Ampthill & Flitwick

Dramatic Society

The Ampthill & Flitwick Dramatic Society is based in Bedfordshire, with members from both towns and many of the surrounding villages. The Society celebrated its 60th anniversary several years ago.

As amateurs we typically perform three shows a year in a variety of locations and are open to all of whatever interest, and of whatever ability.

We have undertaken a wide range of shows - comedies including "Murderer to Death" and "Habeas Corpus" as well plays dealing with more serious matters such as "Who's Life is it Anyway?" and "Breaking the Code". Shows are selected, directed and produced by members of the society.

We are fortunate, with Parkside Hall in Ampthill, in having the use of a good stage with enough space for us to be able to install our own raked seating (or caberet style tables) and lighting equipment. Whe have also performed at other locations; notably performing Tudor histories at the church in Ampthill, shows at the Rufus Centre in Flitwick and on one occasion "Breaking the Code" at Bletchley Park.

We make our own costumes and sets, using a comprehensive wardrobe and construction and storage area in Millbrook.

If you would like any further information please contact us.
