Ampthill & Flitwick Dramatic Society

Presents:

"Building Bridges"
By Colin Calvert.

There's a group building a walkway though the local countryside...

From the Author:

"Building Bridges" is a dark comedy based on a group of environmental volunteers. Personality clashes and power struggles are common to most group activities. The play is based on my own experience as a member of a group building a boardwalk in Ampthill Park. Several incidents - the clash with the dog walker - being mistaken for prisoners - really did happen! However, the real group are terribly nice people and do not include:

Bob, a happy-snapping ex-Police Inspector
Beryl, a very bossy lady
Molly, Beryl's sidekick
Clive, a nerdy newbie
Mandy, a tart with an ASBO of gold
Trish, the hapless manager.

The final event in the play would never happen with the real group - at least I hope it doesn't! However, you wouldn't want to see a nice play about nice people and I wouldn't bother writing one. I really do hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
